BACTERIA, MAGNETITE AND PAPER HORNS

Akee invites to spend October 24th evening together and get to know the works of Lithuanian contemporary artists Rūta Spelskytė-Liberienė, Ona Juciūtė and Kamiles Krasauskaitė.

The meeting will take place on October 24. 5:30 p.m. at the Pakruojis synagogue (Kranto St. 8, Pakruojis)

Akee Residents:

Ona Juciūtė, born and working in Vilnius, is a young generation sculptor. In her work, she is interested in the topics of manufacturing and industry. Coming from a multi-generational family of carpenters, Ona tries to understand hierarchical systems of various materials through her works, observing the changing production conditions.

Kamilė Krasauskaitė is a multidisciplinary artist and curator working in Vilnius, Brussels and Paris. to test in his practices the leaven of bread as one of his main media or metaphor. Her practice develops in various formats, from installations, sculptures, graphics or paintings to publications and socially stimulating events or promotions. Kamilė also explores how certain hollow spaces can cause physical, mystical and moral transformations for individuals.

Rūta Speltė is particularly interested in the misunderstandings and extra-science of human dialogue, as well as the connections between the worlds of science and fiction, which are inaccessible to our instruments and thinking model. She works with rare specimens, light emission and pigments, imagined alchemy of the future, plants, animals and senses that could be trained or found.
