As the days grow shorter and everyone prepares their homes for the winter holidays, Akee invites you to spend one of the last evenings of autumn together crafting candles. On November 27th at 6 PM, we welcome friends, colleagues, supporters, and their children to roll up their sleeves and create beeswax candles for the darkest time of the year.

For this gathering, we’ll prepare 15 kilograms of beeswax, sourced from beekeepers in the Vilnius region. Beeswax will be available for purchase on-site, and we’ll provide all the necessary tools for candle-making—from melting equipment to wicks.

The candle-making workshop will take place on a table specially crafted for Akee this summer by the Hungarian architectural collective Architecture Uncomfortable Workshop (AUW). This table is part of an installation designed for the Akee space, symbolizing and encouraging reflection on the connection between bees and humans.

To fill the SODAS 2123 cultural space and its café Estafetė, where the workshop will be held, with inviting aromas—and to share homemade treats—we’ll also have waffle makers ready for use. Feel free to bring your own ingredients for the batter or pre-made batter to the event.

The candle-making workshop will take place at the cultural complex SODAS 2123, Vitebsko St. 23, Vilnius, from 6 PM to 8:30 PM.
